Crossing things off my list

I spent most of the weekend working really hard on goshery items. I have a long list of items I want to make, so I prioritized my list and got to work.

I made several more The Garden mini album kits, which means cutting lots of chipboard, covering chipboard with fabric, cutting out embellishments, cutting ribbon, etc. I ran short of a couple of items (buttons and binder rings) so once those supplies come I can package up the kits and they will be ready to go. Here's a picture of my piles:

I've also been working on Confirmation cards and got lots of those made too!

I love the deep gold color of the card stock, and the white paper is a great contrast. Here's a close up of the card, which is now available in my shop.

Hope your weekend was productive too!

The Garden mini album kit, art journal

Just listed in my Etsy shop . . . The Garden. Love this mini album! It was so fun to have a place to document my flowers - they look pretty good considering I have no idea what I'm doing.

The front and back covers are covered in fabric, so inside I used 5" x 7" photos.

I'll post more pictures in the days to come. Better yet, stop by my shop and take a look!

50th Sale!

If you know of a young person that will be Confirmed this fall you might want to check out this card in my Etsy shop. The card can be personalized with the date of your choice.

I just bought some paper to make a different Confirmation card and I'm waiting for inspiration to strike. I think part of my problem is that the card shown here is one of my favorites, so it's hard to think of a new idea that I will like as much. Stay tuned. I need a number of Confirmation cards myself so this is a priority for me.

I finished my Garden mini album, and I have to say that I really like it! I sold two already and I need to get pictures taken so I can list it in my shop. I might have to run home over lunch tomorrow because the days are getting shorter and I don't think I'll be able to take pics after work until next Spring!

Over the weekend I made my 50th Etsy sale! Wahoo!

Good news and bad news . . .

The good news is that Jordon WON Big Brother!!! Woot woot! If you read my previous post you know that she was my FAV, so I'm very happy! Now I have to wait until July for the next season to start. In the meantime, I guess I'll be back to watching CNN while I craft since the live feeds are over. More good news - you don't have to listen to me talk about BB any more - until July!!

The bad news is that Becky Higgins (super star crafter and my BFF. Ahem.) announced on her blog today that she is leaving Creating Keepsakes. If you are a paper crafter you should recognize her name; she been with Creating Keepsakes for 12 years. You can find the link to her blog on the right side of my blog and read her announcement. Hopefully she'll continue blogging and who knows what may be in her future. I wish her all the best!

I have actually been crafting the past several days even (while keeping up with the BB news of the day) and have almost completed a new album. I'll post pics soon. Please stop by my Etsy shop and check out the items listed there, and I would love it if you would become a follower of my blog! It's easy, simply click on the link to the right. Thanks!

Excuse me for just a minute . . .

I'm sorta busy right now, ok? I'll be back soon. You see, I'm hopelessly addicted to Big Brother, which I've mentioned before. It's down to the final three and it seemed quite certain that it would be Natalie and Kevin going to the end which is NOT a good ending. I've spent the last three months getting to know these folks and although Kevin can bring the funny someimes Natalie (or Nasty as she's called in the forums on Hamstertime) is just, ugh!

However, on tonight's show Jordon (we like to call her Jordo) won an important challenge which means that she actually has a chance to make it to the end, and that's a good thing! There's hope and that means that I'm back to watching the feeds and reading the forums and texting my sister-in-law and niece about what's going on.

If you don't watch the show (or follow it on the live feeds or read the forums) then all of this might sound like a different language to you. Sorry about that. Go about your business and check back here in a day or too . . . right now I'm busy.

Signs of fall . . .

Today I saw a tree that is turning colors - there were orange and red leaves on it! Very pretty, although it's just getting started. I drive past the tree every day on my way to work and I know from previous years that it's going to get even prettier later this fall.

Last year I made these tags for fall and they were quite popular:

I took the pictures at a farm that had pumpkins, gourds and other fall items for sale. There's still a set available in my shop.

Another popular item in my shop has been this ring of tags:

I love them so much I use them for my avatar. I was sold out, but recently got enough materials to make a few more sets so I will be re-listing them in my shop next week. I also have similar materials in a Christmas theme, so watch for those as well.

New item in shop!

I just listed a new item in my shop - Oh My Gosh altered circles. I came up with this idea because I have been saving cardboard and trying to think of a use for it. I thought it would be fun to make an embellishment that would be versatile, and after playing around for a while I came up with these circles. I plan to make some additional color combos too. I also took some new pictures because I'm not thrilled with these, so hopefully I'll get them edited and see if they are better.
Tonight I've been working on a garden mini album. I bought supplies a while ago and got all of the pictures printed but kept finding other things to work on. I decided to focus on the garden album and have an order for two of them so I need to get this first one done and work out the kinks. I'm covering the front and back with fabric and this is my first experience with that, so it has been a matter of trial and error. I got them done, so now it's on to the inside pages which involves laying out all of my photos and deciding which ones to use. I'll post some pics when I have the book complete.
Enjoy your evening!
