working on a mini album . . .

I'm currently working on a mini album focused on travel. I mentioned before that I found some really cute paper, die cuts and stickers from October Afternoon. Some of those items are pictured above. I love the colors and the designs and I'm having lots of fun working on the album.

Here's a better look at the paper:

Here are the stamps and stickers:

and here's the front cover of the album, which is all that I have made so far:

I used a smaller piece of chipboard and mounted the car and star on that, so although it's hard to see in the photo it's raised from the main page. The star is one of the die cuts; I mounted it on a larger star cut from blue card stock and then sewed a red button on top.

I'll post more as I finish it, so be sure to check back!

Look what I found in my yard!

I was out in my yard yesterday checking out my flowers when I found this cute little bird's nest laying on the ground. I took a bunch of photos that I'm getting printed and I think I'll make some cards and/or wall hangings with the prints.

My flowers are looking great; here are a few more photos from my yard:

I ordered prints of all of these flowers and plan to make a garden book. I made one a few years ago and it's one of my favorite mini albums, so I'm going to make another but it will be a different style. I'll add some photos when it's done.

New mini album in the works

I'm so excited! I found some great paper & embellishments that gave me an idea for a fun new mini album that will be great for recording a vacation . . . specifically a road trip! My last mini album, the journey, can be used to document a trip but also has a more generic look and could be used for many other things. This new kit will really be perfect to take with you on a road trip or to work on when you get home from a vacation. If you are behind, like me, you could use it to document a previous trip!

The paper and embellishments are from October Afternoon - I love their paper! The line I'll be using is actually called "Road Trip" and it's super cute.

As soon as I have all of my supplies gathered I'll give you a sneak peek. Until then, happy scrapping!

goshery embellishment set

I just finished a set of embellishments and posted them in my shop. The set was really fun to make - I have a Cricut Expression and I don't feel like I'm using it enough so my goal was to play around with it and see what I could make.

I love the variety of flowers that I can cut on my Cricut and tried a few different ones for this set. The little ones are my favorite!

Quote bubbles are always fun to use for journaling and I love the shape of the ones that came with my Cricut.

Arrows are popular with scrapbookers and I have are three different styles of arrows (I only used two in this set).

Hearts and stars are always handy to have on had as they go with any theme so I included a few of those in this set. The really fun thing about these hearts and stars is that I used my VersaMark to stamp images on them - if you haven't used it before it's definitely something you should try! It turns the stamped image a darker shade of the paper you are stamping on and I think it's a really fun look.

Since the colors of this set are muted it would be easy to use with almost any project!

I have an idea for another mini album so I'm going to work on that next. I also need to make a bunch of cards so there's lots of crafting in my future!

Summer fun and an update

Oh, don't you just love summer? One of my favorite things to do in the summer is hang clothes on the line. I'm lucky enough to have a nice flat yard with a great clothesline, and I wish I could use it more often! I usually end up doing laundry in the evening, and just use the dryer. But the other day I happened to be home on a nice sunny day and I took advantage of the opportunity to line dry some clothes. They smelled so good when I brought them back in the house!

I have to show you my clothespin bag . . . it's so cute!

My daughter often takes her dog to a nearby lake for a nice cool swim (it's actually a trick to give him a bath!) which he loves. The other day every lake she went to had kids swimming and although Hunter is very friendly she wasn't sure they would enjoy having him splashing around nearby. She ended up bringing him back home for a bath using the hose - which is not something he enjoys at all!

Look at this face!!

And finally, I wanted to give you an update on my Mother's Day hanging plant which was dead when I got it as shown here. A friend of mine stopped over, took the plant off it's hanger and shielded it from me as if I had killed it. She took it home and ta da! It's alive! Thanks Shari!!

I hope you are having a great summer! I'm working on a new embellishment set that I hope to post very soon.
