So much stuff!

I had an 8 year old friend over yesterday to do crafts!  Her classroom is having a Christmas sale and each student is making handmade items to sell.  All of the proceeds from the sale will be given to our local food shelf, so it's a great cause and it gets kids doing crafts!  It was so much fun crafting with Camryn; at first she was kind of shy and unsure of herself but it didn't take her long to get in the groove.  She wanted to make cards and her goal was to make 50 cards that she could sell in sets of 2.  Initially she wanted to make 50 different cards, but I convinced her to make some duplicates so that we could get them all done this month!!

We worked from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and we didn't even stop for lunch!  I offered her hot chocolate but she was determined to get her cards made so we just kept working.  We met the goal and she went home with 50 handmade cards packaged in clear poly sleeves in sets of two.  She wrote (in cursive, which she just learned) her name on the back of each card.  She was so much fun to work with and it was a great way to spend a Saturday.

At one point Camryn looked around and said, "wow, your whole basement is full of stuff for crafting".  She was clearly impressed!  She's right, I have a lot of stuff and I continue my quest to make it as organized as possible.  I'm in search of a tall armoire that I could use to hold my HUGE paper supply and maybe a few other things too.

One thing I did recently purchase is this tiered shelf which is not only functional but super cute!

The picture isn't the greatest but you can get the idea.  In the bottom shelf I have paper flowers, my inspiration jar of ribbon and, just for fun, a decorative thread spool with the words "sweet moments".

The middle shelf holds extra ribbon and twine, and, just for fun, vintage Bingo cards.

The top shelf holds small paper packs and little jars of buttons.  Just for fun I attached a tag with the message "so thankful" using a tiny little clothespin.

The shelf is a dark red color and I'm so happy I bought it!

Speaking of stuff, I bought some more buttons:

I know, that's a lot of buttons!  I couldn't pass up this deal though - my favorite brand of buttons (Fancy Pants) for super cheap!!

I have a custom order to get done today so I better get to work.

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
