Once upon a time . . .

Once upon a time, many years ago, a dear friend gave me a Christmas present with this note:

The note reads:  This gift is against my better judgement, but I'm giving it to you anyway!  When you kill I mean when the plant dies on it's own this way cute pot can stay in your home with fake greens, candy or something!  Happy Holidays!

Did you get that not so subtle message?  The way I read it there was no confidence that I could actually keep the plant alive.  How rude!  Well, I'm proud to show you a picture of the plant, and remember that this is several years after I received it.

Looking pretty darn healthy, don't you think?  And no, I did not replace the plant.  This is the original plant that was given to me.  What a green thumb I have!  I have no idea why this dear friend (that's you Peggy!) would think I couldn't do it.  Ok, that's not exactly true!  I don't typically do well with plants but give me a challenge like that and I will keep it alive!

She was right about one thing - the pot is super cute!!

The cute pot and the thriving plant live on my kitchen counter and definitely brighten the space.

Love it!

Why do you still have the darn note and everyone should remember your post from last year when Shari had to rescue your hanging plant 'cuz it looked like sh*t! Just saying.
My last mention in the blog was making fun of me at a sewing machine and walking in the rain, I may have to be done with goshery blogs!
What year is that plant even from??

The plant is at least 5 years old. Did you notice the part where I called you a dear friend??!!

And your "dear friend" gave you the "you can never kill it" plant. That's what friends are for! Love the bags you made!

You are so lucky to have covered yourself with the dear friend part...

Hard to admit, but the plant looks really healthy. I hope everyday did look back at your hanging plant though :)
