I've mentioned many times that editing photos is the bane of my existance, mostly because I don't have any photo editing software. I've been using Picnic, which is free online, but it's pretty basic and doesn't allow me to do many of the things I want to do. It's also incredibly slow.
Yesterday I made a bold move and ordered Photoshop Elements 9. I'm excited but also very nervous because I have never used it before and from what I understand there are few instructions included with the software and a pretty tough learning curve. There is a book available called The Missing Manual (aptly titled since, well, there isn't a manual with the software) but it's another $30 and I thought I'd give it a try before I incurred another expense. I'm hoping that I will install the software and it will be very intuitive. Ha!
Do you use Photoshop? Any tips?
One thing that encouraged me to order the software is that I enrolled in a year long Ali Edwards class called One Little Word, and she makes available different digital items - overlays, templates, etc. - and also provides tutorials for each item. Hopefully that will get me started and you will see much improved photos here on my blog and also in my Etsy shop. We'll see!
More about One Little Word in the days to come, including the word I chose for the year. Any guesses?
I'm excited about the class!
