OLW Blog Hop!

Welcome to the One Little Word Blog Hop!

As I mentioned in this post I am participating in Ali Edwards One Little Word class through BigPicture Classes.  The idea behind the class is to chose a word (or let a word chose you) that will be significant to you over the course of this year, or maybe a word that you want to focus on and pay attention to or maybe even a word that keeps popping up even though you don't know why.

My word for 2011 is Change because I expect a lot of change to happen in 2011.  As I mentioned in the earlier post, some examples of the change I'm anticipating are:

Change . . . painting, removing wallpaper, replacing light fixtures, etc.

Change . . . move more, eat less. Check out Cathy Zielske's blog to read more.

Change . . . my daughter is graduating from college in May and starting her adult life.

Change . . . now that college is paid for I'll have more change in my pocket!

Change . . . in how I manage and market my Etsy shop.

I have to admit that I haven't started the scrapbooking/creating portion of the class yet.  I have an album and I have selected a paper pack that I'm going to use (The Linen Closet Stack from DCWV) but I haven't actually completed any of the prompts that Ali provided for January . . . and February is here!  It's not that I'm not excited to get started or that I don't have any ideas, but one of my reasons for taking the class is to use the awesome instructions that Ali provides using Photoshop.

I just recently purchased Photoshop Elements, got a bad disk, returned it and now have my new program right here on my desk.  However, I'm so busy with change that I don't have time to load the program!  I want to load it when I have some time to dedicate to it, and that probably won't be until late February.  I'm ok with that though; it's a year long class and I'll be able to catch up once I get started.

Speaking of change, I spent my entire weekend working on removing the wallpaper in my kitchen and getting the kitchen, living room and hallway ready for paint.  I was lucky enough to have some girlfriends come over to help or I would still be working on it!  Here is a before picture showing the wallpaper:

Ugh.  I will not miss it one bit!  The light fixture needs to go too but for now I'm concentrating on painting.

Here are a couple of pictures after the wallpaper was removed:

 The kitchen

The dining area - the wall on the left is the one in the first picture.  I don't usually have a Mickey Mouse tablecloth - that's just a blanket protecting the table.

And here's the living room with all of the furniture moved, waiting for paint:

I really hate living in such a mess but it's shortlived so I know I can manage.  I'm looking forward to having it all done and I will post the "after" photos in a few days.

In the meantime, please HOP on over to Cynthia's blog and hear all about her One Little Word:  http://paperpapereverywhere.blogspot.com/

You can check out all of the blogs by simply HOPPING from one to another.  If you get lost along the way here's a complete list of all of the participants:

OOO, I love redecorating. When we moved into our house 12 years ago, we had a lot of wallpaper to remove! Now I just freshly re-painted my kitchen ORANGE!! (a pic is on my blog in an older post!) It's so energizing and fun! TFS!

Good luck on your journey of change. We moved into our house a year and a half ago and still have quite a bit of decorating to do.

You certainly are enacting your word with all the changes going on! :) I'm doing Cathy's MMEL as well - one of the things I'm focusing on this year (my word is focus). Good luck with the journey! :)

Oh !! Love your post!!! Have fun redecorating! We moved into our house six months ago and I don't even have all the curtains up!

Winter! What a wonderful time to have a project inside that demands your attention. Good job on the most difficult step to any project: getting started.

So glad your word is already entrenched in your day to day - hope you find some time to complete your OLW projects too.

Great visualization of your word!

Good luck with getting started on your prompts. It seems like you have a lot of things to do to help you follow your word.

Love seeing you put that word into action. I'm also glad to hear you will have more coin-change later in the year! yeah!

That's a lot of change. I'm doing MMEL as well, so hope to see you on the Flickr group!

Good call in removing that wallpaper! lol I'm sure it will look great when you're done. Don't forget to post any PSE questions you might have to the message board, once you get it installed. It's a bit of a learning curve but worth it, I think! Good luck with your word this year, it looks like you have a great start! :)

I love change and almost always see it as a good thing. It looks like you're going to be busy in 2011. I hope you will share your album when you have it put together.
