thinking ahead.

I am, quite honestly, a procrastinator.  I'm great at making lists and prioritizing things and getting them done before they have to be done, but barely.  In other words, I'm always doing things at the very last minute to meet deadlines.  I recognize it, I know I should change it, and maybe I will tomorrow . . .

In the meantime, don't be like me!  Plan ahead!  Shop early!  Buy your Valentine mini album now!!



Note to self:  work on being more subtle too.

Its all about me

Today is an unusual Saturday for me because I'm actually going to leave the house.  I think I have weekend agoraphobia, because my favorite kind of Saturday is one where I never leave the house!  I love to get up whenever I feel like it rather than by alarm, and I like knowing that I have the whole day ahead of me with no obligations, no errands to run, no reason to get all beautiful.

But, today is not one of those days.  Today its all about me; I'm off to a nearby town to get my hair cut and my nails done (I am a hand model ya know!) and then I suppose I'll have to make a stop at the craft store.  Darn!

When I get home I will be focused on the Valentine mini album I'm working on.  I'm almost done, but one finishing touch will involve my sewing machine.  I know.  That means that I'm going to have to figure out how to thread it (ugh) unless I'm lucky enough to have left red thread in the machine, which I doubt.

Check in tomorrow because I plan to have the album finished and post some photos.  Hope your Saturday is all that you want it to be.

February is right around the corner . . .

I've been busy working on a Valentine mini album that I hope to get listed in my shop in the next few days.  Included with the album will be lots of embellishments from Scenic Route (the curved arrow, labels, small arrow and journaling blocks shown above) and also several embellies that I have made myself (red felt heart, flowers & heart with buttons, red heart on vintage word, etc.)  I have been having so much fun making the embellishments - the colors are so much fun!  Also included in the embellishment set is a playing card (hearts of course!) and a list of sayings (you + me, love ya. mean it., to name a few) that can be cut into word strips and used alone or attached to something, such as the felt heart.

The album itself has an awesome cover page made from Tim Holtz grungeboard.  This is my first time using grungeboard and I love it!  I painted it bright red and that really makes the embossed swirls stand out.  Inside the album will be some fun patterned paper, mostly from Scenic Route.
